Objectives

 
  1. To identify the indicators of the climate change impacts on the fresh water,   agriculture, flora and fauna and coastal processes
  1. To observe and analyse the temporal and spatial changes in rainfall, temperature, evaporation and groundwater- quantity and quality- in the Lakshadweep islands
  1. To examine the evidences of climate change using paleoclimatic records from corals and sediments using stable isotope
  1. A geospatial assessment of the impact of sea level rise on the fresh water resources of inhabited atolls of Lakshadweep Islands and map the vulnerable regions
  1. To study the livelihood implications of the predicted climate change
  1. Develop a web enabled database based on  data of observed and published documents about changes in natural resources and socio-economic variables due to climate change
  1. Develop a framework and decision support tool to assess the climate change impacts on natural resources and socio-economic variables
  1. To prepare guidelines for development planning to assist with the integration of climate information into development efforts of Lakshadweep Islands
  1. To formulate a methodology for developing capacity for the proper adaptation and mitigation due to climate change
